Exceeded our expectations! The atmosphere is amazing! Our waitress was Madison and talk about detail oriented. She truly made our first visit spectacular! She asked if we have any allergies, which as someone with allergies that was very appreciated. We got the meatballs appetizer, so tender and flavorful! The salad was so good and fresh too. Main courses were, the diane steak (two steak medallions...incredibly tender), ravioli with chicken added, everything was top notch! We finished off with the buttermilk cake and it was sweet and fresh. Such a great experience, we cant wait to go back!

Our server was excellent. He was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. Our party of 4 booked a reservation for 9:30 Sunday, I’m glad we did since it was very busy walking out. We ordered two omelette dishes, crab cakes and my stuffed French toast w/ Grand Mariner cream cheese w/ berries along w/ a couple pomegranate mimosas and couple of local beers. I’d stop in again if in town.

This place is very unique. My boss and I went there for dinner and obviously it’s inside of a church. The artwork on the ceiling and arches are the entirety of the book “The Art of War”. Very unique. The staff was extremely attentive and very warm and welcoming. To start we got the oysters and the tuna tartare. Both were pretty great. I like the oysters more than the tuna tartare. For an entrée, I got the salmon and my boss got the fried chicken. We should’ve brought a massive appetite because the serving sizes are extremely generous. Overall, the food was good. I wouldn’t say it was great, but definitely something to experience while you’re in Charleston. We only had one mild issue, but we discussed it with the waiter and he offered what help he could

From the moment you step inside, this restaurant makes an impression. The space is striking and full of character—it was formerly a church, and the architecture has been beautifully preserved. The artwork on the ceiling alone is worth admiring. We began the evening at the bar with cocktails and PEI mussels, which were absolutely delicious and a perfect way to start the night. Once seated at our table, the service continued to shine. Our waitress heard it was our anniversary and took exceptional care of us throughout the meal. We started with the bacon and melon—wow. It was incredibly flavorful, and quite generous in portion size. For mains, we ordered the lamb burger and the special seafood pot pie. Both dishes were excellent, thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and served at well-timed intervals. We ended the evening with the banoffee pudding dessert, which was a lovely finish. Overall, the food was outstanding—bold flavors, careful presentation, and consistently friendly, attentive service. The only drawback to an otherwise wonderful experience was feeling slightly rushed toward the end of the meal. We arrived on time for our reservation and were there for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes, yet the dessert menu was presented before we were halfway through our entrées. A dessert spoon was placed on the table before we had ordered dessert, and the bill arrived as our dessert was served. While I understand the need for table turnover, a two-hour dining window is generally expected unless a time limit is communicated in advance at the time of reservation. That said, this is still a fantastic place, and we truly enjoyed our anniversary dinner.

Had an wonderful first visit to Church and Union Charleston. Came here for brunch with our young family. Very accommodating for families and we had a lovely large booth in the corner to keep all the children corralled. I made a note in the reservation which they were able to accommodate this request. Lovely The service was wonderful, the food was well portioned, and fresh and very tasteful. We’d rather enjoy our experience and we’ll be glad to be back. As a sidenote, they offer a 25% discount for military. This is very gracious and much appreciated for those who have served our great country.
