We came at 2pm on a weekday and were promptly seated. Our server was very pleasant and suggested the buffet which we accepted. It was a small but tasty offering of various German dishes. We finished up with dessert and couldn’t have had a more pleasant late-lunch while passing through Columbus.

We were visiting from out of town and stopped by for lunch on a Sunday before heading home. The German Village neighborhood was adorable and we were happy to have found Schmidt's. The Bahama Mama platter was amazing and we shared an apple strudel a la mode for dessert. I loved the ambience and the food was delicious!

Schmidt’s Sausage Haus Restaurant in the German Village neighborhood of Columbus Ohio is a must do. Be sure to try their famous buffet to sample the selection of sausages and more. Desserts are only $5 when ordering buffet. Nice menu if you’re not into the buffet thingy. If you’re reading this, please hit Like❤️ Leechelle was a great server.

Schmidt's was AMAZING! I love German food, and this hit the spot. Coming from Cincy, I've had a good amount, but this was by far some of the best I'd had in a while. The sauerkraut with pork was delicious. Pretzel nuggets- bomb. Sauerkraut balls - pretty sure best I've ever had. Our server, Lauren, as the sweetest and most patient - we came with questions! She gave us great advice and tips and was so friendly to talk to. Definitely will return at some point when back in the area!

Grabbed lunch here with some friends the other day. Schmidt's comes with a lot of hype. I'm not sure it totally lives up to it in certain ways. I decided to do something I never do, I ordered the buffet. I wanted to try a lot of different things, and the buffet seemed to make the most sense. The buffet was solid. The mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious. The macaroni and cheese was super creamy. And the sausage stew was one of the best stews I've ever had. That's the one thing I would highly recommend. The sausages though were kinda bland. They weren't bad, but I didn't think they had a ton of flavor. I would argue the sides were better than the one thing this place is known for, their sausages. Their beer selection was fantastic. And their beer prices are quite friendly considering what you normally pay in Columbus. I also ordered a vanilla cream puff to go. I wasn't impressed. Maybe it's not a dessert for me, but I just didn't like it very much. All in all, this was a good experience. It isn't cheap, and I don't think the sausages are as good as advertised. But the rest of the menu that I was able to try was brilliant.
